Double-click the Rest/Toggle Button to cycle through the four conversation modes:

Press to Talk
Press the button once. Wait for P101 to say “Hi,” then start speaking.

Wake Up to Chat
Say “Hi Tuya” to wake it up. Wait for P101 to say “Hi,” then start speaking.

Free to Chat
Talk freely without any triggers. P101 will listen to and respond to all ambient voice commands.

Long Press to Chat
Hold the Press to Talk Button while speaking. Release it when finished, and P101 will process your command.

• Move the P101 closer to your router.
• Power on the P101. If you hear the “Network Connection is Successful” prompt, try speaking to it. You should notice significantly faster response times when the Wi-Fi signal is strong.
• You can also try switching to a different LLM, like Gemini 2.5 Fast—in our testing, it’s significantly quicker than the default GPT-4o.
• If you do not hear the connection prompt, check if your Wi-Fi password has been changed recently. If it has, please reset the P101 and reconfigure the network settings.

You can use your P101 outdoors by using the “Add Alternative Network” feature in conjunction with your phone’s mobile hotspot. Please follow these steps:

• Connect P101 to your phone: Open the Tuya app and enable Bluetooth on your phone to establish a connection with the P101.
• Enable your Mobile Hotspot: Ensure your hotspot is set to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Some phones allow you to select this manually. On an iPhone, you must turn on the “Maximize Compatibility” toggle under the Personal Hotspot settings.
• Access Settings: Go to the P101 home screen in the app and tap the “…” icon in the top-right corner.
• Locate Network Settings: Scroll down to “Device Settings,” find “Device Network,” and tap to enter.
• Add a Network: Tap “Add Alternative Network” at the bottom of the screen.
• Enter Hotspot Details: Manually enter your hotspot’s Wi-Fi name and password. For Android device, you can find the Wi-Fi name directly on the Hotspot settings screen. For iOS device, your Wi-Fi name is the name of your iPhone. You can check this by going to Settings > General > About.
• Save and Switch: Tap “Save.” Your P101 can now switch between known Wi-Fi networks. Whenever you take your P101 outdoors, simply connect to the device, turn on your hotspot, and switch to your hotspot network under the Device Network menu. Your P101 will now stay connected on the go!

To give P101 as a gift or start fresh, press the Rest/Toggle button 5 times consecutively. Once you hear, “Reset successfully, let’s start configuring the network,” the process is complete.
